GB Olympic hockey stars join as Investec ambassadors
Investec is thrilled to welcome two inspirational hockey stars, Alex Danson and Maddie Hinch, as Brand Ambassadors.
Alex Danson MBE won Olympic bronze at London 2012 and gold at Rio 2016. She was the joint top scorer at both Games, with 98 goals at international level since making her senior debut at 16. “I’m delighted to become an ambassador for Investec’s hockey sponsorship,” Alex said.
“The past five years have been a wonderful time to be involved with women’s hockey and Investec has been a huge part of our story,” Alex said.
Maddie Hinch is renowned for her tenacity and cast-iron defence. As the world’s best female goalkeeper, she saved all of the Netherlands’ penalty attempts during the 2016 Olympic Gold medal match.
“Investec’s sponsorship of women’s hockey has been a game changer for our sport,” Maddie said.
Investec’s partnership with women’s hockey, from grassroots through to the England and GB sides, has coincided not only with success on the field, but also with a doubling of the number of girls taking part in the sport. Alex and Maddie are currently focused on their partnership on the pitch, as they prepare for the sold out clash with the Netherlands in London on 11 June. This match will pit the Olympic and World Champions against each other, in a rematch of the 2016 Olympic final.
